Welcome home to Adjala-Tosorontio!
Thinking about buying a home in Adjala-Tosorontio? Here’s some information about this beautiful area.
Adjala-Tosorontio is an amalgamated township in south central Ontario. It’s located close to the Greater Toronto Area and to one of the country’s greatest recreational areas.
It’s in the County of Simcoe so the area is well serviced with access to Stevenson Memorial Hospital, New Tecumseth, Essa and Clearview county libraries, numerous parks and its proximity to Alliston in New Tecumseth.
The area is mostly rural with numerous small communities. This beautiful and scenic area is home to many residents who commute to the Greater Toronto Area.
The Everett Secondary Plan
Some exciting changes are being planned for Everett in Adjala-Tosorontio. Area council has long favoured Everett as the main focus for growth in the region. They’re working on a multi-phase development plan that will lay the ground work for major expansion in the community.
The aim is to quadruple the current population to around 10,000 people in the next 30 years.
By 2031 the community is hoping to see over 1,000 new homes. These will most likely be a variety of single-family homes, two-storey apartments and affordable housing. That means Everett will need new and improved water and sewage servicing infrastructure.
Commercial development is also part of the plan with the hopes of creating a proper downtown area along Mainstreet.
